Despite the inclement weather, Friday 22nd June saw the Grand Opening of Decorative Panels Components new 175,000ft² manufacturing and distribution facility which has been named “Lowfields II”.

Held in a marquee adorned with Union flag bunting erected to the side of the factory, the day celebrated “The Best of British Manufacturing”. Not only showcasing DPC’s state of the art production facility but also providing the opportunity to view a superb display of Aston Martin and Bentley cars, whilst enjoying a vast collection of classic British dishes provided by local caterers Berties.

Officially opened by Craig Whittaker MP for the Calder Valley in front of almost 300 guests, the site will be home to 100 production and engineering staff with the £10 million investment giving DPC the capacity to double current production levels.

A full program of events for the day included guided factory tours for all guests, enabling a firsthand appreciation to be gained of the sheer size of the facility and the level of investment in high tech processing equipment. Further tours of the Decorative Panels Lamination plant, which is less than half a mile away, were also offered with many people taking the opportunity to gain an insight into both businesses on the same day.

Output levels of over 600,000 panels per week are now a reality and as shown to our guests on the day, the factory has been designed to offer not only the most efficient, cost effective, high production items, such as kitchen and bedroom carcase and fascia, but also has a high degree of built in flexibility for smaller batch runs of differing specifications.

Whether it be panel production for kitchens, bedrooms, lounge and office or items such as shelving and storage ranges, the vast array of production equipment in the new facility can help you with any enquiry you may have. Even more flexibility has been introduced in that the factory can also offer fully boxed products, see the full article in this newsletter, as well as palletised panel production.

Guests were keen to comment about the new facility with Richard Adam from Omega plc saying “...we were impressed at the scale, capacity and flexibility of the component facility as well as understanding your laminating capability” whilst Stephen Greenhalgh of JJO plc commented “...you have a wonderful facility there, I applaud the confidence of Stephen and Guy for putting together such a substantial investment.”
