Decorative Panels Group is proud to announce the successful completion of our large-scale solar panel installation at the Components factory in Elland - marking a major milestone in our commitment to sustainable manufacturing and long-term energy efficiency.
The project, which spans 5,500m² of rooftop space and incorporates over 2,000 photovoltaic (PV) panels, represents a £1.7 million investment in renewable energy infrastructure. With installation now complete, the system is set to generate over 1.1 million kWh of clean electricity annually, reducing our carbon emissions by approximately 304 tonnes of CO₂ each year.
Delivered in partnership with Radcliffe Construction Ltd and supported by long-term supply partner Firth Steels, the project has been completed to the highest standards of performance, safety and durability. The installation includes Firth Steels’ high-performance F200 roofing sheets, forming part of the overcladding solution to the existing roof.
The renewable energy generated will power our manufacturing operations at the Components factory, with surplus electricity exported back to the National Grid. Over the system’s expected 30-year lifespan, this is projected to deliver energy savings in excess of £10 million.
This completed installation is a clear demonstration of our environmental strategy in action - investing today to future-proof our facilities, reduce our carbon footprint and contribute positively to a greener manufacturing sector.
We’re pleased to share images of the finished solar installation, showcasing the scale and impact of this landmark project.
Thank you to all partners and teams involved in bringing this initiative to life.
