Decorative Panels Group is excited to share the latest progress on our major solar panel installation project at the Components factory in Elland.
Since the announcement of the initiative earlier this year, significant strides have been made on-site. The 5,500m² solar roofing system — comprising over 2,000 photovoltaic (PV) panels — is now well underway, with visible transformation across the facility. This milestone marks a crucial phase in our journey toward a more sustainable and energy-efficient future.
We’re proud to be working alongside Radcliffe Construction Ltd and Firth Steels to deliver this £1.7 million project. Their expertise and commitment are helping bring our vision to life, ensuring the system is built to the highest standards of performance and durability.
Once completed, the solar array will generate over 1.1 million kWh of renewable energy annually, reducing our carbon emissions by an estimated 304 tonnes of CO₂ per year. This clean energy will power our production operations — with surplus electricity feeding back into the National Grid — contributing to a projected £10 million in energy savings over 30 years.
As part of our long-term environmental strategy, this project is not just about energy generation - it's about demonstrating leadership in sustainable manufacturing and showing what’s possible when innovation meets responsibility.
We’re pleased to share some recent images that highlight the progress so far. Images and video courtesy of Michael Eyres Partnership (MEP).
Stay tuned for the next update as we move closer to completing this landmark investment in renewable energy.
