Group Technical Supervisor

Laura has been part of the Decorative Panels' family for over 20 years now! First joining as an Edgebander Operator, Laura has worked her way up to Edgebanding Section Leader and more recently, with over 20 years of experience to her name, our Group Technical Supervisor. A prime example of how excellent employee performance is recognised and rewarded here at The Decorative Panels Group. 

Joining back in 2003, Laura recalls significant changes from what Decorative Panels was, and what it is now. Laura has grown with the success of both her personal development and the trajectory of the company over these last 20 years. From Edgebander Operative to Section Leader to now our recently appointed Group Technical Supervisor, Laura's progressive journey with Decorative Panels is nothing short of inspiring. Laura's motivation at work is driven by the countless opportunities for continual development.

Alongside working here at Decorative Panels, Laura has been a valued team member at Huddersfield Town Women FC. After 20 years of playing in between the sticks, Laura decided to hang up her boots last year - claiming she is now "too old". Her love for The Terriers cannot be questioned, with her frequent visits to the John Smith's Stadium to watch the men's football. Her connection to the club still remains as strong as ever with Decorative Panels having had the privilege to be the shirt sponsor for Huddersfield Town Women this upcoming season!

In her free time, Laura loves all things fitness. Running, walking, football, gym...you name it. In between work-life and exercise, Laura enjoys socialising with her friends and spending valuable time with her two Cocker Spaniels: Freddie and Ruby.

Laura claims she has made some great friends over the course of her 20-year tenure at Decorative Panels. And whilst she could not think of a standout memory suitable enough for an online webpage... Laura insists she has made friends for life.

If you hadn't already guessed, when we asked Laura what she wanted to be when she was growing up, she unsurprisingly responded "a professional footballer". While she feels envious of the opportunities that younger players are exposed to now in women's football, Laura looks back at her time with Huddersfield Town Women with great fondness and optimism about the future of the women's game.

We feel incredibly lucky to have such an ambitious individual as part of the Decorative Panels' family.
