on Carla Lockwood !

DPL Customer and Procurement Co-Ordinator

We’re shining the spotlight on Carla, who has been part of Decorative Panels for over 16 years. 

Carla first joined the business as a temp at Decorative Panels Components in 2009, working as a Materials Optimiser, before becoming a permanent member of the Decorative Panels Lamination team in 2010.

She joined as a Purchasing Assistant and gained more than 10 years’ experience in the role before moving into her current position as Customer and Procurement Co-Ordinator. Her current role gives Carla the opportunity to be involved throughout the order process, from speaking with customers and suppliers to working closely with colleagues across Decorative Panels. Keeping customers happy, building strong relationships and working as part of a team are what motivate her most. 

Outside of work, Carla’s two boys keep her busy. They love trips to the park, bike rides and family holidays, while a Sunday afternoon in Hebden Bridge is a particular favourite, usually involving a wander around the market, pizza and a trip to the park.Carla has also recently started ballet barre, a combination of ballet and Pilates. It’s tough, but she’s enjoying the challenge and trying to push herself a little harder each week.

When she does get some downtime, Friends will always make her laugh, especially Ross, while Love Island and Married at First Sight are her guilty pleasures. Carla also loves going out for food and drinks with friends and family, with Italian always her first choice. Pasta and a glass of Pinot is the ideal combination! Other favourites include a large Costa coffee, preferably in one of the cups so big it needs two handles, and the occasional spa day.

And what did Carla think she would be when she grew up? A beauty therapist. A week of work experience in a nail salon soon changed her mind after she spent most of it making tea and sweeping up. She did come away with a gorgeous set of nails though, so it wasn’t all bad!
